Website design for tile manufacturers — open the demo and click around.

I build websites for tile manufacturers that let a dealer or buyer see a tile on a real floor, count the boxes and send a complete enquiry in one visit. Terrafina Ceramics, a demo vitrified tile maker in Morbi, shows how it works.

The business on the demo is fictional: its name, phone numbers and reviews are sample content, and its forms send nothing.

what customers need, and how the site answers it

A tile is bought twice. First the dealer or architect chooses a look from a catalogue or a display board, and then someone has to work out how many boxes a floor needs, whether that size is in stock and how long the lorry takes. Most tile manufacturer websites only help with the first half, with a gallery of glossy product shots and a phone number. The demo for Terrafina Ceramics, a fictional maker of glazed vitrified tiles in Morbi, is built around both halves.

What dealers and buyers look for on a tile manufacturer's website

A showroom owner wants to know whether the range fits their market, what the dealer terms are and how quickly reorders arrive. A builder or architect needs the right size and finish for each area, a box count with wastage and confidence that the whole floor comes from one batch. An importer wants FOB ports, container loading, carton branding and the export documents. None of them wants to download a 40 MB PDF catalogue on a phone at a site.

They also need to see the tile on a floor, not as a single square on a white background. A large marble-look slab that looks calm on a display board can feel busy across a whole room, and a wood-look plank reads very differently in a brick offset than in a straight lay. That is the question a tile website can answer better than a printed catalogue.

How the demo handles it

The visualiser draws a sample living room and lays the chosen tile across the floor in perspective, one tile at a time, with real grout lines. Buttons switch the collection (marble, concrete, wood-look plank, terrazzo, terracotta and slate looks), the size (60 × 60, 60 × 120 and 80 × 160 cm, plus 20 × 120 cm planks), the finish (glossy, matt or textured carving) and the laying pattern (straight, brick with half offset or diagonal). Glossy adds a soft reflection of the window, carving adds surface texture, and each tile has a slight shade variation, as fired tiles do.

Under it, the box calculator takes the room length and width in feet or metres and returns the floor area, the order area with wastage, the number of boxes and pieces and a sample cost in rupees. Wastage follows the pattern: about 5% for a straight lay, 8% for a brick offset and 12% for a diagonal, where every edge tile is cut at an angle. One button sends the whole result to the enquiry form, so the sales desk receives the collection, size, finish, pattern and box count without a single follow-up question.

The collections page gives each look its own tile with finish, sizes, thickness, best use and a from price per square foot and per box, and a packing table shows pieces per box, coverage and approximate box weight for each size. The design itself is a bento laid like a tiled floor: every block of content is a tile, separated by grout-coloured joints, with small back-stamp labels such as the ones printed on the back of a real tile.

The pages

  • Home: the range at a glance, a live preview of the visualiser, the dealer and export offer and the four steps from enquiry to dispatch.
  • Collections: six looks with specifications, sample prices and links into the visualiser.
  • Visualiser: the room visualiser and the box calculator, with notes on wastage, batches and skirting.
  • Export & Dealers: FOB Mundra or Pipavav, mixed containers, branded cartons, documents and the dealer programme.
  • Dealer Enquiry: one form for dealers, projects and export buyers, with a GSTIN check and WhatsApp next to it.

Search and structured data for a tile manufacturer

Each page targets one search intent: the home page for the manufacturer and the city, the collections page for looks such as "marble look vitrified tiles", the visualiser for "tile calculator" and "how many tile boxes" searches, and the export page for buyers searching for tile exporters from Morbi. Every page carries one JSON-LD graph with an Organization (with sales hours on its contact point), a WebSite and breadcrumbs. Collections are marked up as Products with a unit price per square foot, and the export and dealer offers as Services. A Google Business Profile for the factory and sales office, with the same name, phone and categories, completes the local set-up.

Country notes

India

Indian English throughout, with prices in rupees per square foot and per box, always marked as sample ex-factory figures before GST and freight. Tile buyers in India talk in square feet and boxes, so the calculator works in feet by default and shows square metres alongside. WhatsApp is the main contact button on every page because that is where dealers place reorders and share site photos, with calls and email next to it. The GSTIN and the Importer Exporter Code appear as labelled placeholders in the footer, on the export page and next to the form, ready for the real numbers. Morbi is the centre of India's ceramic tile industry and a short truck run from the Kandla, Mundra and Pipavav ports, which is why the export page leads with FOB quotes from those ports.

09 — Questions

about a website for tile manufacturers

Can the visualiser use my own tile designs?

Yes. The demo draws each tile in code, so your site can use flat scans of your real designs instead: each catalogue image is laid in the room in perspective, tile by tile, with the grout colour you choose. New designs are added by uploading one image and filling in the size, finish and collection.

Should a tile manufacturer show prices online?

A from price per square foot, clearly marked as ex-factory and before GST and freight, tells a dealer or builder they are in the right range and filters out enquiries that were never going to buy. Dealer rates, schemes and project prices stay off the site and go out on a proforma invoice after the enquiry.

Where do dealer enquiries go?

To WhatsApp, email or a CRM, whichever your sales desk works in. The form sends the enquiry type, company, city, GSTIN, collection, size and box count as separate fields, and an enquiry sent from the calculator also carries the finish, pattern and wastage, so the desk can quote without asking the same questions again.
