The business
Umiya Oil & Company is a shop at Tilara Gate, Shapar-Veraval, on the industrial edge of Rajkot. Since 2003 it has supplied wholesale fuel and sold lubricants from many brands at one counter: hydraulic oil, cutting oil and CNC coolant, industrial gear oil, grease and compressor oil for the factories around it, and engine oil, gear oil, coolant and brake fluid for cars, bikes, trucks, tractors and generators.
Its buyers know exactly what they need: a maintenance engineer wants ISO VG 68 hydraulic oil in a 208-litre barrel, a workshop wants a carton of 20W-40, a CNC unit wants a soluble cutting oil by the drum. What they want from a website is to confirm the shop stocks it, in the pack they need, and to get a price quickly.
What the site had to do
- Show every grade the shop stocks, across 18 brands, so buyers can check before they call.
- Let buyers ask for several products at once, with pack sizes and quantities, without phoning for each.
- Keep prices honest: most bulk prices are confirmed on the day, so the site must not pretend otherwise.
- Be found by buyers in Shapar-Veraval, Rajkot, Metoda GIDC and Lodhika GIDC searching for a grade or a supplier.
- Make it obvious the shop is a multi-brand retailer, not an authorised dealer of any one brand.
What was built
A page for every grade
There are 628 product pages. Each shows the brand, the product type, the grade, the category and the pack sizes, then a WhatsApp link to confirm today's price, an Add to enquiry list button and a link to ask about bulk pricing. Below that, the page says where the grade can be bought and delivered locally, answers three common questions and lists related grades.
Brands and categories that answer the first question
Eighteen brand pages, from Castrol, Servo, Mobil and Shell to Arabian Petroleum and Savsol, each list every grade the shop carries. Ten category pages, such as hydraulic oil, cutting oil, industrial gear oil and diesel engine oil, list the grades in stock, the brands that carry them, who usually buys them and where the shop delivers.
An enquiry list instead of a checkout
Buyers add products to an enquiry list, choose a pack size and a quantity for each, and see an approximate estimate wherever a starting price exists. One button sends the whole list as a ready-written WhatsApp message, another as an email. No account, no payment, nothing to remember: the list waits in the browser until it is sent, and the shop replies with the confirmed price.
Bulk and fuel
A bulk section lists the grades factories order most, so a buyer can ask for drum pricing in one message. A separate page explains how wholesale fuel supply works: solid, liquid and gaseous fuels, with volume, delivery and account terms confirmed per order.
Built to be found locally
- Local pages. Area pages for Shapar-Veraval, Rajkot and Metoda GIDC, and pages for searches like hydraulic oil supplier Metoda GIDC, cutting oil supplier Shapar-Veraval, lubricant supplier Lodhika GIDC and engine oil wholesale Rajkot.
- Technical guides. Choosing between ISO VG 32, 46 and 68, the mixing ratio for soluble cutting oil on CNC machines, hydraulic oil for injection moulding machines, and ISO VG 220 against 320 gear oil.
- Structured data on every page. The shop is described as a Store with its address, map position, opening hours and the areas it serves; brand pages carry Brand data, category and brand pages list their products, FAQs are marked up on every page and breadcrumbs on every inner page.
- A complete sitemap. 702 URLs, every product, brand, category and local page included.
Honest by design
Two small notes do a lot of work. Every brand and category page says the shop is a multi-brand retailer, not an authorised dealer, and product photos are labelled as illustrations rather than the actual packaging. Prices say "Price on call" unless a real starting price exists, and estimates are marked as approximate. For a trade buyer, that honesty is what makes the WhatsApp message worth sending.
Technology
The site runs on Laravel with server-rendered pages and a small JavaScript store, built with Vite, that keeps the enquiry list in the browser and turns it into a WhatsApp message or an email. Images are served as WebP in two sizes and load lazily below the first screen. Call and WhatsApp buttons sit on every page, because most buyers would still rather talk to the shop before they order.
