The business
VEDUMI is a resin art studio in Shela, South Bopal, Ahmedabad. Every piece is poured by hand: pooja thalis, door nameplates, wall clocks, diya and tealight stands, photo frames, preserved wedding garlands and return gifts. Most pieces can carry a name, a date or a photo.
Buyers come in two very different shapes. A family buys one nameplate or one thali, often as a gift, and wants to know it can be personalised and when it will arrive. A company or a wedding planner buys 50 to 200 pieces for Diwali hampers or return gifts and wants the per-piece price, branding and a delivery date. Many buyers are Indian families living abroad who want something handmade from home, priced in their own currency.
What the site had to do
- Sell one piece and two hundred pieces from the same product page, without a separate quote for every bulk order.
- Take personalisation details with the order, including a reference photo, instead of a long WhatsApp thread afterwards.
- Take payment up front in India, with the methods people actually use: UPI, cards and netbanking.
- Show buyers abroad prices they understand, and tell them clearly how shipping works.
- Be found on Google for searches like resin nameplate, pooja thali return gifts or resin art in Ahmedabad.
- Load quickly on a mid-range phone, because that is where almost every visit starts.
What was built
A catalogue that answers the buying questions
The shop holds 54 products, each on its own page, filtered by price, occasion and collection. Every product card already shows what a buyer would otherwise have to ask: the starting price, the bulk price, whether a name or date can be added and how long dispatch takes.
Bulk prices that apply themselves
Each product carries its own price tiers, for example ₹149 a piece up to 24 pieces and ₹124 from 25. The table sits on the product page and the cart applies the right tier on its own, so a planner ordering 100 tealight stands checks out at the bulk price without waiting for a quote.
Personalisation inside the order
A tick box on every product opens a short form: what should change, which colours, plus an optional reference image. The details travel with the order, so the studio starts work with everything it needs. Buyers who prefer to talk can still tap WhatsApp or call from the same page.
Checkout and trust
Payment is prepaid through Razorpay, with UPI, cards and netbanking. Around the buy button the page repeats what matters: handmade in Ahmedabad, dispatched in 7 days, cushioned packaging, the 5.0 Google rating and a simple promise for anything damaged in transit. Shipping, returns and custom-order policies are one click away in the footer.
Selling abroad
A selector in the header lets visitors choose one of eight countries, and every price on the site follows: rupees, US dollars, pounds, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand dollars, dirhams and euros.
Seven country hubs, for the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UAE and Finland, speak to the Indian diaspora in each place. The USA hub, for example, talks about the pieces families in New Jersey, the Bay Area, Texas and Chicago order most, quotes delivery in 5 to 8 business days and shows the featured products in dollars. The hubs are linked to each other with hreflang so Google shows the right one in each country.
Built to be found
- A page for every search. Thirteen collection landing pages, such as resin nameplates, resin pooja thalis, corporate gifts, varmala preservation and resin art in Ahmedabad, each target their own search.
- A journal that earns visits. 34 articles cover care guides, how pieces are made, gift ideas for each festival from Navratri to Bhai Dooj, and wedding return gifts by budget.
- Structured data Google can use. Products carry Product and Offer data with shipping details and the returns policy; the studio is described as a LocalBusiness; FAQs, articles and breadcrumbs are marked up too.
- A clean sitemap. 122 URLs, every product, article, collection and country hub included.
Fast on a phone
Product photos are the heaviest thing on a store, so they get the most care. Each image is served as WebP in three sizes, and the phone downloads the small one. Images below the first screen load only when they are about to scroll into view, and every image declares its size so the page does not jump while it loads. The hero image is preloaded, the display font is self-hosted and preloaded, and analytics loads without blocking the page.
Technology
The site runs on Laravel with server-rendered pages, Razorpay for payments and Google Analytics 4 for measurement, hosted on an Ubuntu server. WhatsApp links on every product and in the header keep the conversation open for buyers who would rather talk before they pay.
